I was appointed Headteacher here in September 2012 and quickly realised that Stockton Heath Primary School boasts the most hardworking, supportive, dedicated and passionate children, parents, staff and governors I have ever had the pleasure of working with.
Our most recent Ofsted inspection (22nd January 2019) confirmed that our overall effectiveness continues to be ‘good’ with the behaviour of pupils recognised as a real strength of the school. 'Pupils know what it means to be patient, courageous and kind' and are 'proud of the qualities and values that they have identified within their school'. Leadership, management and governance of the school are identified as strong features and 'pupils make good progress across the curriculum'.
Stockton Heath Primary School was voted Warrington Guardian’s School of the Year in 2016 and then again in 2017 and Warrington Wire FM’s School of the Year in 2016. The school consistently produces strong academic results at all key stages, almost always above local and national averages, including 2018 Key Stage 2 Reading, Writing and Maths combined results which ranked us as the 9th best performing school in Warrington and 2018 Key Stage 2 expected progress in Reading, Writing and Maths combined results which placed us in the top 5% of schools nationally.
We receive regular commendation for our work on hate crime and anti-bullying through the WISE UP! initiative and are one of a very small number of schools nationally who hold the AfPE Distinction Award for ongoing commitment to PE and Sport. In a highly unusual 2019-20 academic year, we gained the School Games Virtual Award for our online PE and Sport blended learning offer during lockdown. Having achieved the School Games Gold Award for 3 successive years, we are now eligible for the Platinum Award. In December 2019, we were awarded Artsmark Gold for our significant achievements and progress in all forms of the arts and are currently undergoing assessment to achieve Artsmark Platinum. We also currently hold the Warrington Arts Award.
Our warm, friendly atmosphere, our purposeful, resourceful classroom environments, our passion for creativity and our caring and sharing ethos make Stockton Heath Primary School a fantastic place to work, learn and play. Everyone within our school community is resolutely committed to our motto ‘Strive to Succeed’, to our mission statement and to our vision of achieving and maintaining outstanding levels of practice in all areas.
I hope you find our website informative and that it gives you an insight into what makes our school so special.
