Our School

Stockton Heath Primary School is a two form entry community school situated right in the heart of Warrington’s most attractive and prestigious village. Our impressive site comprises a modern, two-story building with a large playground and artificial pitch at the rear and an Early Years outdoor provision area at the front. Our school is bright, spacious and extremely well-maintained with 14 classrooms, 2 halls, a Reading Room, a Computing/Conference Suite, a Library, a Food Technology Room and numerous additional small group and intervention teaching rooms. We boast extensive PE equipment, musical instruments and technological equipment including PCs and i-Pads.
The school caters for pupils between the ages of 4 and 11 (EYFS-Y6) but a private day nursery facility, Little Lot, is based at the school which children from the age of 2 upwards attend. Our on-site breakfast and after-school club 'Stocky's' is led and managed directly by the school and staffed with the school's own qualified teaching assistants, play supervisors and play workers.
Our pupils are inspired and challenged and make the most of their learning through exciting lessons and through the vast array of trips, clubs, visitors and residential opportunities and experiences we offer. We are a non-denominational school but follow a Christian ethos and have very strong links with local churches and other community groups.
Our current school building is just over 15 years old but the school itself was founded well over 100 years ago. The previous Edwardian 2-story building was situated right in the centre of the site and when construction began on the new building, Roman remains were unearthed. A thorough archaeological dig was undertaken for the duration of the build and countless items of Roman pottery and artefacts were recovered on and around what would have been the continuation of Roman Road. The vast majority of the finds are stored at Warrington Museum and form part of a display in the main museum hall. However, the most remarkable discovery was fully-preserved and kept within our building – a Roman well. The well is located beneath our small hall but can be viewed in all its splendour under photo-sensitive lighting simply by raising a hydraulic cover.
We are very privileged and very proud to play such an important part in Warrington’s rich history but feel even more privileged to be an integral part of the warm, friendly, welcoming and unique community we serve.
